Kenya, an African country, receives a larger number of tourists every year. Kenya’s cultural heritage and wildlife made it a top tourist destination in Africa. A trip to Kenya for a business visit or wildlife adventure requires a visa. So, the government introduced a simplified entry process, the eTA, to make travel easy for international visitors. If you are a German citizen, then you can skip the process of getting a visa from the consulate or embassy.

Instead of the standard visa-acquiring process, you can get a digital permit (Kenya eTA) online. The Kenya visa for German citizens is valid for limited travel purposes only. Before planning your trip, check the Kenya eTA requirements. Kenya eTA is a necessary travel permit for most travelers, including German citizens.

Do German Travelers Need a Visa to Visit Kenya?

German citizens or passport holders need a Kenya eTA or visa to visit Kenya. They do not have to worry about booking embassy appointments because Kenya visa for German citizens can be obtained online. All German travelers, including minors (kids accompanying their parents or guardians), need their own Kenya eTA permit to enter Kenya.

Kenya eTA for German Citizens

You should remember that Kenya eTA will not be issued as a visa on arrival upon your entry into Kenya. It should be acquired before your trip date. The standard Kenya visa system has been replaced with the digital system.

  • The permitted travel visits include leisure activities, transit and business purposes and family visits.
