Cambodian Visa for Georgian Citizens: Guidelines to follow
Cambodia is famous for its culture, ancient temples, beaches, and more. In 2024, Cambodia saw 6.7 million foreign tourists visiting it, which was an increase of 23% from the previous year. If you’re a Georgian citizen who wants to explore this amazing country, there is an easy way to get your visa. You can apply for a Cambodian eVisa.
An electronic visa/eVisa, as the name suggests, is a digital visa for which you can apply online. This eVisa saves you from having to visit an embassy/consulate. Anyone who wants to apply for a Cambodian eVisa needs to have their documentation, a stable Internet connection, and a device on which they can fill out a form.
There are a few very specific Cambodia visa requirements that an applicant must meet to get their application approved. Read on to get familiar with all of these conditions and fill your Cambodia visa application form successfully.
Who Can Apply for a Cambodia Visa Application Form from Georgia?
Although every Georgian citizen who wants to enter Cambodia must have a valid visa, not everyone is eligible to apply for a Cambodia eVisa. There are three specific travel reasons for which you can apply for this eVisa:
Tourism: You want to travel to Cambodia for sightseeing or fun activities.
Business: You must go to a conference or business meeting in Cambodia.
Transit: You need to pass through Cambodia to get to another country.
These are the only three travel purposes that make you eligible to apply for a Cambodia eVisa. However, if you have some other reason to travel to this country, there are other visa options available. Only the Cambodia eVisa is available for online application. All the other visas require you to visit a Cambodian embassy.
Remember to apply for any child traveling with you, as there is no age limit when it comes to the Cambodian eVisa. Everyone visiting the country from Georgia must have their own, separate eVisa.
Various Kinds of Cambodia Visas Available for Georgian Citizens
Just like the Cambodia eVisa, there are other types of Cambodian visas available for different travel purposes.
For example, if you’re a student who wants to pursue a higher education in Cambodia, you will need to apply for a student visa. If you want to stay within this country for more than two months for business or other reasons, you will need to apply for an ordinary visa. If your reason to visit Cambodia is to get employment, then you would need to apply for a work visa.
Validity and Extension of a Cambodian eVisa
Once you get your Cambodia tourist visa or Cambodia eVisa, it will be valid for 90 days from the date it is approved. You can enter within these 90 days and stay for a period of 30 days. This visa allows you to enter the country only once, which means that you can’t leave and return using the same visa.
You can apply to have your eVisa extended if you would like to. It is possible to extend your eVisa for an additional 30 days. This makes your stay in Cambodia valid for a maximum of two months. You must apply for a regular visa if you need to stay in the country for a longer period of time.
Keep in mind that overstaying your visa can result in severe legal issues. So, if you need an extension, apply for it before your first 30 days are over, or you will be considered as overstaying your visit.
Documentation to Submit Your Cambodia Visa Application Successfully
Passport
You must have a valid/current passport granted by your country. This validity has to be of about six months or more after the day you enter the country. It must have two blank/unused pages for visa stamps. You also need to scan the biographical page of your passport to upload while filling the form.
Once you get your approval letter, this specific passport will be linked with your eVisa. This means you cannot use any other passport that you may have. It is best to ensure you use the same information when trying to enter the country; otherwise, you may be denied entry.
Photograph
A photograph is another critical part of the application process. Your photo has to be as recent as possible and not older than 5 or 6 months.
Email Address
During the application process, you must also provide your email address. Ensure that you have access to this email address at all times, as all the information related to your approval will be sent to the address you shared on your form.
Credit/Debit Card
You must pay an online fee for your visa application. This visa fee cannot be refunded. You can use a credit/debit card for this online payment, as most of the websites offer this payment mode. However, depending on the website you’re using, you may be offered other modes as well.
How to Fill Your Online Cambodia Application and Submit It?
After you have all your documents with you according to the requirements shared, you are only a few steps away from submitting your form. There are four basic steps for filling the Cambodia visa application form.
- Go to a trustworthy website that provides the Cambodia visa application form.
- Fill the form completely and with care. Check the details twice or thrice to avoid any errors.
- Pay the online fee.
- Submit your form.
How Long Is the Processing Time for the Cambodia Visa Application?
It mostly takes 3 days for a Cambodia visa application to get approved. However, whether or not you make any errors in your form may have an impact on this processing time. To save yourself from a delay or rejection situation, apply for a Cambodia visa online a minimum of seven days before the day you want to enter the country. This move can save you from missing your entry date and give you some extra time to reapply for the eVisa.
Cambodia Entry Points with eVisa
An international visitor with a Cambodia eVisa can only enter Cambodia by land or air. They cannot enter by sea. There are six authorized entry points for this, including three airports and the other three are land borders.

Key Points About the Cambodia eVisa
- Your Cambodia eVisa application may be approved, but it doesn’t guarantee that you can enter Cambodia. The final check at the entry point by an immigration agent will decide whether you can enter or not. Any mistakes or discrepancies can lead to denial of entry.
- You are allowed to apply for a Cambodian eVisa on whatever day of the week you can. The approval letter is sent on working days.
- Business, travel, and transit are the only three purposes for which you’re eligible for a Cambodian eVisa. For other purposes, you are required to visit a Cambodian embassy.
- You have to show your Cambodia visa on arrival, so carry a hard copy of a letter of approval to show to the immigration agent at the entry point.
