Australia's eVisitor Visa Information

In 2008, the Australia eVisitor online visa was introduced, enabling travel to Australia for Europeans. Australia and the European Union have arrangements for mutual short-term travel.

Before visiting Australia, nationals of Europe must apply for the online Australian eVisitor application form.

Multiple entry for stays of up to three months are permitted with the Australia eVisitor, which has a 12-month validity period.

The online eVisitor visa is granted for short visits in Australia for tourism or business. Additionally, the eVisitor enables qualified overseas nationals to train or study in Australia for up to three months.

All foreign nationals must apply for a visa at an Australia Consulate or Embassy in order to stay in Australia for longer periods of time.

For short-term visits to Australia for tourism or business, European nationals can apply for an Australian eVisitor online. Additionally, the eVisitor enables overseas nationals to train or study in Australia for up to three months.

The distinction between a tourist visa and an electronic visitor visa The criteria for qualifying are ETA. Applicants will need to submit an application for either an ETA or an eVisitor Visa, depending on their country of citizenship.

The ETA and the Australian eVisitor visa are similar in that they both permit the holder to travel or conduct business in Australia for up to three months.

The validity period of the Australian eVisitor is 12 months from the date of issuance or, if earlier, until the applicant’s present passport expires.

During its 12-month validity, the Australia eVisitor online enables stays of up to three months per visit.

The eVisitor for Australia is granted for brief stays for leisure or business, as well as for up to three months of study or training.

It is prohibited to work, study for more than three months, or stay longer than three months in Australia even with an approved eVisitor Australia Visa.

Applicants must be outside of Australia in order to submit an online application for an eVisitor visa.

Multiple entrances and stays of up to three months each are permitted with the eVisitor for Australia online visa.

Applicants cannot revoke their Australia eVisitor once it has been granted. The applicant will keep their authorized eVisitor.

Travel/health insurance is not a necessity to apply for an eVisitor to Australia. However, it is required that user be tuberculosis-free at the time of travel to Australia.

There is no way to extend the Australian eVisitor. A visiting visa can be applied for once in Australia and before the eVisitor expires, allowing holders of this Australia online visa to potentially extend their stay.

There is no way to extend an Australian eVisitor Visa; instead, if it expires, the traveler must apply again from outside of Australia.
